Joseph left Pulaski County, GA about 1827 and moved to Dale County, AL.

In late 1833, they moved to Hinds County, MS to be near other Regan relatives. He made four land purchases in Hinds County from 1833 to 1835.

In Dec. 1836, Joseph purchased land in Ouachita Parish, LA. He sold his property in MS in Feb., 1838. His Ouachita Parish land became a part of Union Parish, LA when it was established in Dec., 1849.

"Alexander Physician Dies En Route Here. Dr William Westley [sic] Ward, aged 72 of Alexander died on the way to a Little Rock hospital Monday. He had been a physician in Arkansas for 52 years. He received his M.D. degree at the University of Arkansas and did post-graduate work at Tulane University. Four generations of his family had been physicians in Virginia and Alabama. He was a member and former officer of the Saline County Medical Society, the Southern Medical Society, the Arkansas Medical Association and the American Medical Association. He was an officer in the Medical Reserve Corps during World War I. He was a member of the Scottish Rite and the Shrine.
"He is survived by his wife, Mrs Carrya Bond Ward; a son, C A Ward; two daughters, Mrs E S Toombs and Mrs J B Drake of Little Rock; a sister, Mrs F H Rockett of West Monroe, Louisiana; a brother Robert A Ward of Rayville, Louisiana; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held in the Griffin-Leggett chapel by Elder Ben M Rogard at 3:30 p.m. Thursday. The body will be sent to Farmerville, Louisiana for services at Zion Hill Baptist church by the Rev Dewey H Rockett, a nephew, at 3 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in the family lot at Zion Hill cemetery. The family requests that no flowers be sent."

Charlotte Ann Schick, 81, loving homemaker, passed away March 22, 2016. She was born on November 20, 1934 in Little Rock, AR to James E. and Helen Ward Carter. As a youth in Little Rock, she performed in many musical reviews with the Dorothy Donelson Dancers as a ballet and tap dancer, and she taught dance to children as well. On September 21, 1953, she married Maj. Thomas Edward Schick, USAF in Benton, AR. From that union, they had two children, Thomas A. and Karen. While raising her children, she served as a Cub Scout Den Mother, and a Brownie and Girl Scout Leader. She was a member of the Francisco Garces Chapter of the National Society, Daughters of the American Revolution. In addition, Charlotte was also a member of numerous genealogical and heritage societies, and devoted over thirty years to genealogical research. She was preceded in death by her father, James E. Carter, her mother, Helen Ward Carter Drake; and her husband Maj. Thomas Edward Schick, who passed in 2001. Charlotte is survived by her son, Thomas A. Schick of Richardson, TX; daughter, Karen Macagno (Gilbert) of Las Vegas, NV; grandchildren, Capt. William Schick, USMC of Quantico, VA, Andrew Schick of Seattle, WA, Christopher Macagno of Reno, NV, Anthony and Nicholas Macagno of Las Vegas, NV; sister, Judith Drake Griffith (Gene) of Red River, NM; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends throughout the United States. Biography*: William was in the Civil War, CSA.

"At the age of twenty-one, he enlisted as a private in the "Pulaski Greys," Co. K, 49th Regiment Georgia Infantry. His unit immediately when to Richmond, Virginia and joined the Army of Northern Virginia. After a stint in a hospital when he contracted typhoid fever after reaching Virginia in the summer of 1862, William was present for duty between July 1862 and February 1865, participating in all activities of his unit. He was captured at Petersburg, Virginia on 25 March 1865 and sent as a prisoner of war to Point Lookout, Maryland. He took the oath of allegiance to the United States on June 17 and was then released."
