  • Biography*: In 1942, Wray opened Nelson Office Supply in Odessa, Texas. It started as a typewriter sales and service company and gradually expanded into office supplies and furniture. His two sons, veteran WWII pilots, joined him as co-owners after WWII. Leaving Noris and Kay in charge, Wray and Erlyce took an extended sabbatical in 1951. For 10 years they toured the the United States, pulling their classic Airstream trailer, sometimes joining Wally Byam's Caravan on many of their travel adventures. They also visited parts of Europe and the Middle East, especially Israel. In the early 1960s, they retired, first to southern Florida, then to Colorado and finally in Odessa, Texas. At the age of 77, Wray Nelson invented a storing and cleaning device used with travel trailer hoses. He was awared a US Patent, No. 4054149.

Noris at Sul Ross College around 1947 with one of his unique model airplanes, built from strips of balsa wood and special filament paper or fine cloth. These models were built from scratch. No kits in those days. All parts were hand-made from drawings and schematics. Very careful planning, a steady hand and technical know-how is a must if you want to do this kind of fine model building.   • Biography*: As a boy, Noris built model airplanes from wood and cloth. He dreamed of becoming an aviator. When WWII broke out he enlisted in the USAAF. He became a B-17 pilot. He was attached to the 306th Heavy Bomb Group / 367th Bomb Squadron, known as the "Clay Pigeons". During 1944 and early 1945 he flew sixteen long range bombing missions over Nazi Germany. After WWII he resided in Odessa, Texas.
