- Biography*: After her husband's, Albert, death, Carrie went to Thomas county, Kansas with her young son, Albert Monroe, to care for her Aunt Mary (Mollie) Sowers who was gravely ill.
While working for Lewis Sowers in Thomas County, KS, Peter met Carrie Addie Sowers Criger, Lewis' granddaughter. Peter, who was a lover of horses, started courting Carrie in a fancy cart and fast-stepping team at the Sowers's home. The courtship lasted less than a year. On January 1, 1899 they were married at the farm home of Malangton (Lank) and Ruth Sowers, Carrie's aunt and uncle, near Mingo, Kansas. - Birth*: Carrie was born on 15 Mar 1872 at Nodaway County, MO.
- Marriage*: She married Albert Criger on 10 Dec 1890 at Clearmont, Nodaway County, MO.
