    Roland Edward Reagan

On August 26, 2020, we lost a wonderful family member and friend, Roland Edward Reagan.

Roland was born on October 26, 1942 in Montgomery, Alabama to Roland Sr. and Ora Nell (Thompson) Reagan. Growing up in Montgomery, Roland loved to fish, hunt, and play football. He proudly graduated from Auburn University in 1964 with a bachelor's degree and again in 1969 with a master's degree. Roland then attended North Carolina State University receiving a doctorate in Aquaculture in 1973. Roland spent his career as a professor at Mississippi State University where he earned the rank of full-professor through exemplary teaching, research and service to his profession. He helped cultivate a passion for Biological Sciences in many graduate students.

In 2003, Roland moved to Butte to marry the love of his life, Rosemary McNellis. Roland loved living in Butte. He especially loved learning about the mining history of the area, driving through the Big Hole and Wise River valleys, and describing Butte's weather to friends and family not living in Montana. Roland was a member of the Southwest Montana Church of Christ and was passionate about preaching God's word to the church. Roland was an avid reader and enjoyed discussing books with anyone who was interested.

Roland is survived by his wife Rosemary Reagan of Butte; his sister Jo Anne Woociker (Sam) of Enterprise, Florida; brother Raymond Reagan of Montgomery, Alabama; a special cousin Gail Hartin of Potterville, Michigan; sister-in-law Ginger (Bob) Toivonen of Butte, Montana; sister-in-law Margie McNellis of Helena, Montana; sister-in-law Barbara (Joe) Comfort of Turah, Montana; brother-in-law Jim McNellis of Tacoma, Washington; stepsons Allen (Bobbie) Chatriand of East Wenatchee, WA; Craig Chatriand of Pocatello, ID; Paul (Tamrah) Chatriand of Helena, MT; and numerous nephews, nieces, and grandkids.
