LUMBERTON — Mr. Franklin D. Powers, 88, of Howell Road, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, Jan. 24, 2022.
He was the son of Junius Hallie Powers and Mary Bell Wellington Powers and was the last of their six children. He is survived by his three daughters, Susan Levitz of Angier, Cathi Powers of Stockbridge, Georgia, and Karen Powers of Rolesville; four grandchildren, and three great grandchildren; as well as his beloved nieces and nephews. Frank loved his family dearly. He was a loving son, father, brother, grandfather and uncle.
Frank grew up in the Barker Ten Mile Community and attended Barker Ten Mile High School. A farmer for his entire life, Frank loved the outdoors and was always as he put it "piddling" in the yard, around the barns, or in the pastures.
He loved to hunt deer but really, he loved just being in the woods looking at the deer. He would spend hours just watching and enjoying nature.
He also loved his flowers. His azaleas, irises and camellias were his pride and joy in his yard.
He was a lifelong member of Ten Mile Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Lumberton Hunting Club, the Barker Ten Mile Men's Club, the SCV and the MOSB.
Frank loved his community, Robeson County, and the state of North Carolina. He was a friend to everyone. A sweet and gentle soul.
Like everyone else, Frank was not perfect but he was blessed with a loving family and good friends. He loved and served the Lord.

The funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Ten Mile Baptist Church with Rev. David McClellan officiating. Burial will follow in the Meadowbrook cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the funeral service at the church.
In lieu of flowers and comfort food, the family respectfully request that donations be made to Ten Mile Baptist Church, for the Children's Ministry Fund in Daddy's Memory.
