  Mr. Everhart was born July 1, 1927, in Davidson County, to Allen Everhart and Anna Jones Everhart. He was retired from Dixie Furniture after serving 47 years during, this time he had worked as a sander.
  
  Surviving are his loving wife of 68 years, Pauline Byerly Everhart, of the home; sons, Larry Everhart and wife Linda of Welcome and Benny Everhart and wife Barbara of Reeds; daughters, Jane Leonard and husband William and Yvonne Beck and husband Don, all of Lexington; grandchildren, Wayne Everhart and wife Amy, Tammy Leonard and husband Darrell, Wendy Hill and husband Ronald, Kimberly Leonard, and Kelly Leonard; great-grandchildren, Riley, Brady, and Mason Everhart, Ashley and Heather Leonard, and Maddie and Abbie Hill.

Paul Ardenes Briggs

  Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Thursday at Beck's Lutheran Church by Rev. John Mocko. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
  
  Mr. Briggs was born May 17, 1922, in Davidson County to Walter Lee Briggs and Lestia Swing Briggs. He was a member of Beck's Lutheran Church, Golden Triad Hunt Club and Yadkin Valley Coon Club. He was a graduate of Linwood School. He was a Davidson County deputy sheriff under Sheriff Wilfred Fritts and retired from Boyd Hedrick's Body Shop. He married Margaret Everhart Briggs, who preceded him in death in March 1998. He was also preceded in death by brothers, Cletus Briggs, James Briggs, Carl Briggs and Everette Swing; and a sister, Lucille Briggs.
  
  Surviving are sons, Dr. Gerald Briggs and his wife, Ginger, of Lexington, and Keith Briggs and his wife, Donnella, of Silver Springs, Fla; a daughter, Martha Briggs Shore and her husband, William, of Lexington; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Archie Briggs and his wife, Annie, of Lexington; and a sister, Goldie McCrary of Lexington.
  
  The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall one hour prior to the service.
