  Annis Miller Reinkoester, 83, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, passed away peacefully at home, Sunday morning August 23, 2020. She was born Annis Bennett Miller in Portsmouth, Ohio, on December 14, 1936 to the late Elizabeth Marian (Dillon) Miller and Ward McGlaughlin Miller.
  
  In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Ward M. Miller Jr., Whitney D. Miller, Henry J. Miller, and her sisters, Marian Knox and Rosamond French.
  
  Annis is survived by her husband and best friend of 61 years, Edward C. Reinkoester of Hot Springs; sons, Edward C. Reinkoester III of Hot Springs, James B. Reinkoester of Charlotte, NC, Ward W. Reinkoester (Paige) of Sarasota, FL; and granddaughters, Whitney and Ashley Reinkoester of Katy, TX.
  
  A wonderful woman, whom a stranger she never knew. Annis graduated from Portsmouth High School with the class of 1954. She subsequently attended Gulfpark Junior Collge in Gulfport, Mississippi and graduated from the Kathryn Gibbs Secretarial School in New York City.
  
  Annis met the love of her life, Edward C. Reinkoester, in Denver, Colorado in 1958, and they were married on November 29th of that same year. She spent many wonderful years as the dedicated wife of an Air Force officer, making many moves and many friends along the way.
  
  Annis was an avid bridge player, bowler and golfer as well as a lover of knowledge and adventure. Annis was a longtime member of the 7th Day Adventist Church and was well sustained in her faith.
  
  Burial will be in Portsmouth, Ohio where she will be laid to rest alongside her siblings and parents.

  Henry James Miller passed away on Sunday, June 7th whilst in transit from the ICU to Hospice. He got as far as the double-doors of the latter before deciding he'd had enough of hospitals and shuffled off this mortal coil. It was a perfect Southern Ohio afternoon.
  
  Henry was born in Portsmouth, Ohio on May 26th, 1939, the son of Ward M. and Elizabeth Dillon Miller.
  
  Henry graduated from Portsmouth High in 1957, before going on to Ohio University and the U.S. Army. He was honorably discharged from both. Later in life Henry received his Doctorate of Divinity from the Universal Life Church. Though he himself never married, he wasn't above helping others make that fateful leap… for better or for worse.
  
  Henry went on to become a beloved high school teacher of English and History, two subjects that he kept pontificating on long after he stopped teaching them for a living at Greenup County and Northwest. His students, who affectionately referred to him as "The Great One", would still occasionally approach him 50 years after the fact to tell him how much his teaching had inspired them.
  
  After he completed his teaching career, Henry took some time for himself. All of it.
  
  He established a travel service for his Uncle Jim, James B. Miller, and Aunt Dot… he is still awaiting payment.
  
  He spent years caring for both of his parents when they were no longer able to take care of themselves.
  
  Henry was a bon vivant. A man about town. A swashbuckling sometime gentleman of Leisure. An often-time Lothario. An avid reader and voracious learner. An historian and raconteur extraordinaire. He was a Reds fan, and a Renaissance man. A member of both the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion, Henry was a Life Master Bridge player.
  
  He was a many time Texas hold-em champion, not at The World Series or anything, but you can bet his name rings out at the tables of the K of C.
  
  Henry was a World traveller, but he always came back to Portsmouth.
  
  He once hit 230 home runs in a wiffle ball season, a record which still stands.
  
  Henry was arguably the greatest obscure philosopher of the late 20th Century.
  
  He was inarguably the greatest Chinese Poker player of the Appalachian Foothills.
  
  Henry was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Whitney D. Miller and Ward M. Miller Jr, as well as sisters Marian D. Miller and Rosamond Miller French.
  
  He is survived by his sister, Annis Miller Reinkoester, of Hot Springs Arkansas, and nine nieces and nephews, each of whom will gladly announce without prodding that Henry was, in fact, their favorite uncle. He didn't even need to threaten to cut them out of the will… he did that for fun.

  Retired Lt. Colonel Edward Christian Reinkoester, of Hot Springs, passed away peacefully at home Friday, Nov. 6, 2020, at the age of 91. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio, to Edward C. Reinkoester and Ardis Leigh Peck on July 28, 1929. He was a graduate of Shaker Heights High School prior to attending the University of Denver, where in 1952 he graduated with a BSBA in Airline and Airport Management. As his father had passed weeks after his 9th birthday, he learned the value of hard work and discipline, a trait that served him well his entire life and in college where he worked three jobs to get him through school. While at Denver he was a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity and summited Pikes Peak. Shortly after graduation with Korean War being fought he received a direct commission in the U.S. Air Force as a 2nd Lieutenant.
  
  Upon completion of five years in the USAF, where he flew the B-36 Heavy Bomber, he relocated to Las Vegas, Nev., flying for Alamo Airways. In 1958 he moved to Denver, Colo., where he flew the DC-3 for Frontier Airlines. It was in Denver where Ed would meet the love of his life. He and Annis Bennett Miller were married on November, 1958, in her hometown of Portsmouth, Ohio. Sadly Ed lost Annis just weeks ago after nearly 62 years of marriage.
  
  During his 25 year military career Ed also flew the B-58 Hustler at Little Rock AFB AR, the B-52 Stratofortress at Ellsworth AFB, SD, Westover AFB, MA, McCoy AFB, FL, as well as serving as Minute Man Missile Commander at Minot, AFB, SD. He also served at SAC HQ at Offut AFB, NE and finally as Commander 28th AMS at Ellsworth AFB, SD. It was from there that he retired from the military Jan. 1, 1977. Ed also served in Southeast Asia at Utapoe airbase Thailand. Ed was the recipient of many decorations including the Bronze Star, The Meritorious Service Medal and The Air Medal.
  
  Upon retirement from the service he joined Air Kaman in Hartford, Conn., selling Cessna aircraft. Being a natural born salesman he was promoted to Omaha, Neb., where he sold Beechcraft airplanes and was National Rookie Salesman of the year in 1978. In 1981 he joined Butler Aviation as VP/GM in Savannah, Ga., and was subsequently promoted to VP/GM at Baltimore/Washington International Airport. He and Annis retired to Hot Springs in 1993. Ed spent many years as a Red Coat Ambassador for the Hot Springs Chamber of Commerce.
  
  Aside from his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his late wife, Annis; and sister, Mary Leigh Rice, of Chicago, Ill. He is survived by his three sons, Edward Christian Reinkoester, of Hot Springs, James Bennett Reinkoester, of Lake Wylie, S.C., and Ward Whitney Reinkoester (Paige), of Venice, Fla; as well as two granddaughters, Whitney Lauren and Ashley Kate Reinkoester, of Katy, Texas. A joint burial service is planned in Portsmouth, Ohio, in the spring of 2021.

• Biography*: Cleva Jean Glotfelty was born in Wolf Lake, Illinois on October 16, 1931, the daughter of Leo James Brothers and Beulah (Brothers) Reed.
  
  She was married to Corky Glotfelty, who survives.
  
  Additional survivors include four daughters, Terri Yates. Rita Barringer, and Laura Roth, all of Murphysboro, and Marsha Garner of Troy; and five grandchildren.
  
  She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and three sisters.
  
  Mrs. Glotfelty died at the age of 67 on Sunday, September 5, 1999, in the Rehab and Care Center of Jackson County.
