  Will: State of North Carolina Davidson County Feb. 26th 1875
  In the name of God, Amen. I David Clodfelter of the State and County afordsaid, do make and ordain this to be my last will and testament in the manner following, viz, Article 1st, I will and bequeath to my wife Nancy Clodfelter the use of the following property during her widowhood or her natural life, viz, all of my real estate consisting of about 193 acres more or less, one horse her choice one, one horse wagon and harness also all the grain that may be on hand and likewise the growing crop, one cow her choice, 4 head of hogs her choice, 2 sheep her choice, all the batton? and all the cloth and thread that may be on hand, all the meat and lard that may be on hand and also the salt, likewise the leather that may be on hand, also farming tools that may be sufficient to carry on the farm - altogether the above named property to be for the use of my wife as her oninta? mcauce? may require during her widowhood in her natural life; also my household furniture. Article 2nd. And at the close of my wife's widowhood as at the close of her natural life I will and desire that the residue of my estate both real and personal of every name and kind be equally divided amongst all my children eleven in no share and share alike.   "Mr. Joseph Clodfelter died the past week and was buried in Midway cemetery. The funeral services were conducted by his pastor, Rev. M. H. Vestal. The deceased had been in declining health for some time and his sudden demise was not unexpected. He was one of our oldest citzens. He leaves a wife and two children ad several grandchildren. He was a very influential citizen and an old Confederant soldier, having served through teh war as a calvary leader."
