George Washington HINSON

M, #81926, b. circa 1807, d. 11 February 1866

  • Biography*: The notes of Robert B. Blackmon also show George Washington Hinson's father as Elisha/Elijah Hinson's, and Elisha/Elijah's father. The Hammonds of Lancaster carry the same information. However, Frances Reeves Jeffcoat told me that there is no proof that Elijah Hinson is the son of John Hinson, the Revolutionary War hero, nor that Washington Hinson is a descendant of that John Hinson. So this connection may be incorrect.
  • Birth*: George was born circa 1807.
  • Marriage*: He married Jerushia KING.1
  • Death*: George died on 11 Feb 1866.2
  • Burial*: His body was buried. He is not listed in the Cemetery Data so his grave must be unmarked..

  • Biography*: A photocopy of a page written by Benjamin Tillman Blackmon lists his great-grandmother (wife of Washington Hinson) as Jerusha Caskey Hinson. However, information (above) provided by Robert B. Blackmon lists her as Jerusha King Hinson, which we assume to be correct.
  • Marriage*: She married George Washington HINSON, son of Elisha (Elijah) Hinson.1
  • Birth*: Jerushia was born circa 1812.
  • Death*: Jerushia died on 11 May 1901.2
  • Burial*: Her body was buried. She is buried very close to the grave of her daughter Eliza H. Blackmon, on the left-hand side as one stands facing Eliza's headstone. Her grave is not listed in the Cemetery Data so the grave must be unmarked..
