Obituary
Timothy Wayne Pate, age 52, of Parkersburg passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, August 1, 2023. He was born on December 19, 1970, in Sampson County.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Felton and Margarete Pate as well as his maternal grandparents, Luther and Nannie Bell Smith. In addition to his grandparents, he is preceded by his aunts Jane Cain and Gladys Johnson.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 05, 2023, at Cypress Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Garland. Reverend Neil Smith will be officiating the service.
Timothy is survived by his wife Shannon Smith Pate, of the home, and two sons Nathan Pate and wife Hannah, Connor Pate, and one daughter Kristen Pate, his parents Wayne Pate and Joette Smith Pate, and sister Rita Pate Coffey and husband Mike, and his very special uncle William R “Toot” Cain.
The family will receive friends prior to the service on Saturday, August 05, 2023, from 10:00-11:00 AM, at Cypress Creek Baptist Church Fellowship Hall in Garland.
Timothy graduated from Fayetteville Technical Community College with an Architectural degree. He began his career working at Interior Wood Specialties (IWS). He later became self-employed and continued his career working with his family doing what he loved farming and building cabinets.
Timothy was always a fan and loved being involved in racing throughout his life. It began with him racing go-carts and continued as he supported and watched his son race later. Farming was also a passion and a pastime for him. From his youth, working in the garden and riding tractors was what he loved. He believed in working with and providing for his family. He also supported his community through Ammon Volunteer Fire Department for over 30 years.
