She was a homemaker and a member of Freedom Christian Church. She was a 1940 graduate of Wallace High School.
Starnes was born April 22, 1923, in Fountain County to Charles and Lamoine Barker Bever. She married Faris E. "Jack" Starnes on Dec. 8, 1946. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Robin (Peggy) Montgomery of Palatine, Ill., and Mrs. Obie (Penny) Sowers of Wallace; a son, Thomas Wayne Starnes of Wallace; a sister, Mrs. Vivian Goben of Martinsville; and three grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 pm Monday at Shoemaker Funeral Home, 202 Indiana 23S, Waynetown. Burial will follow at Waynetown Masonic Cemetery.
Friends may call 1-3 pm Sunday at the funeral home.
