    Married to Elizabeth "Bessie" Thompson 22 Sep 1915 in St. Pauls, Robeson County NC (per "Kinfolks", 1934). They reportedly divorced prior to his death, but the ODC lists him as being married, while some 1935 newspaper articles said he was single and had been living in Ohio for 2 years.
    He disappeared on 10 December 1934 and was found dead in a river in Ohio on 2 February 1935 (per Hamilton, Ohio Journal newspaper article). The family felt he had been murdered, but the Ohio Death Certificate lists his cause of death as accidental drowning and the Ohio authorities also suspected suicide.

    Donna Naomi Everhart, 88, of Ridge Road, died Wednesday, October 14, 2015, at Forsyth Medical Center following a serious illness of 2 weeks.

    The funeral for Miss Everhart and her cousin Doris Cranford will be 2 p.m. Sunday, October 18, 2015, at Pilgrim Reformed Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Richard Moore. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m.

    Miss. Everhart was born January 19, 1927, in Davidson County, to Elwood Everhart and Beulah Everhart. She retired from Southern First Aid where she had been a secretary for many years. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by brothers, Donald Everhart and Clarence Everhart.

    Surviving are sister-in-law, Frankie Everhart of Lexington; nephew, Vann Everhart of Lexington; and devoted cousins, Steve Everhart and wife, Jan of Lexington, Dea Richter of Kansas City, Ks., and Judy Russell of Thomasville.

    Memorials may be made to Pilgrim Reformed Church, 797 Pilgrim Church Road, Lexington, NC 27295.

    Mr. Richard Alexander Putnam, 65, of 420 Henderson St., Hamlet, died Friday, March 24, 2006, at Rex Hospital in Raleigh.
    He was born Feb. 1, 1941, in Hamlet, to Benjamin Alexander Putnam and Virginia Isabelle Howe Putnam.
    He was a retired car shop supervisor for CSX. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Hamlet, the Carman's Union and a long-time volunteer of Hamlet Fire and Rescue.
    Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 27, at First Baptist Church of Hamlet with the Rev. Randy Bishop and the Rev. Trey Martin officiating. Interment followed at Richmond Memorial Park.
    Surviving are his wife, Virginia Brooks Putnam; one daughter, Corinne P. Swink and husband Michael of Rockingham; one son, William Benjamin Putnam and wife Donna of Hamlet; stepchildren, Rob and Sherry Polk, Brooks and Laura Polk, Brian Polk and Wendy Simmons; and eight grandchildren, Jarrod Swink, Benjamin Putnam, Amber Rhodes, Heather Rhodes, Emily Polk, Robert Polk, Saige Polk and Knox Polk.
    Visitation was held from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, March 26 at Harrington Funeral Home.
