  • Biography*: Dewitt Talmadge "DT" Sessions, 90, of Greenville died Monday in Perry.

    The service was at 10 am Thursday, 7/20/2000 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Eridu, with burial at the church cemetery. Family received friends from 6-9 pm Wednesday 7/19/2000 at Beggs Funeral Home Perry. Officiating Bro. Danny Lundy, Elder Bert Holden, and Elder Earl Vann.

    A native of Madison County, he was a longtime resident of both Taylor and Madison counties. He was a former school bus driver for Taylor County Schools, was employed by Taylor County Road Maintenance Dept and farmed for most of his life. He was a member of Fellowship Primitive Baptist Church.

    He is survived by a son, Charles M. Sessions of Perry; four daughters, Tillie Ann Burghout and Lanita Howell, both of Shady Grove, and Mackie Nance and Donna Levister, both of Jacksonville; two sisters, Gladys Hutchinson of Madison and Valree Robinson of Williston; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

  • Biography*: Sherry Ragan Morehouse was born in Great Falls, Montana and grew up in Victoria, Texas. In 1967, she graduated with a degree in art history from Rice University in Houston and earned her master's degree in business administration from Texas A&M University. In 1978 she moved to the District of Columbia area to work as a financial consultant for Coopers & Lybrand. In 1981 she joined what was then MCI as a financial analyst, becoming manager of network planning and senior manager of switched network planning. At MCI/Worldcom she held the position of senior vice president of network planning and engineering. She helped institute the company's 800 telephone service, headed acquisition of circuitry access rights, oversaw the building of digital network services and established network management centers. In 1999 after 18 years with the communications company, she retired due to her illness. She died at age 55 on March 31, 2001 of cancer at her home in Bethesda, Maryland. She was a member of the Founders Society of Rice University and a volunteer management consultant for the Washington Rape Crisis Center. Her marriage to Jeffrey H. Morehouse ended in divorce. Survivors included her companion of Bethesda, Maryland; one daughter of Lexington, Kentucky; her mother, Sherry F. Ragan, of Occoquan, Virginia; one brother and one sister.
