- Biography*: Joyce Pearl Hanes Stutz, 56, of Highway 150 North, Reeds community, died Wednesday night at her home after declining health for six months.
The funeral will be Thursday at 2 P.M. at Reeds Baptist Church, with the Rev. John Pace officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Stutz was born July 4, 1929, in Davidson County to Duff Roscoe and Mabel Edith Perrell Hanes, Of Highway 150 North, who survive.
She was a homemaker and a member of Reeds Baptist Church.
Surviving, in addition to her parents, are her husband, Bill Lee Stutz of the home; two sons, Dana Stutz of Parks Road and Michael Stutz of the home; a daughter, Tara Kearns of Shemwell Highway, and a brother, Hugh Hanes of Old Highway 64 West.

- Biography*: Neill and Carolyn Buie rasied Bettie Regan [#356]. There is a plaque at Philadelphus Presbyterian Church, near Red Springs, NC. "1921. Alla Elizabeth (Bettie) Regan, born Dec. 10, 1861, died Feb. 22, 1921. She was the only daughter of Daniel and Annie Mariah Powers Regan. Her mother died when she was an infant and she was taken by Neill and Caroline Buie and reared as one of their children. She lived for others never thinking of self. She was a consistent member of Philadelphus Presbyterian Church."
