Biography*: Vidalia - Mrs. Virginia Pruitt, age 90 of Vidalia, died Friday, September 12, 2014 in the Bethany Nursing Center in Vidalia after a sudden illness. She was a native of Emanuel County, and lived in Toombs County most of her life. She worked for many years in the cafeteria at Meadows Regional Medical Center. She was a member of Vidalia Baptist Temple, and was a former member of the Rocky Creek Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph W. Pruitt; and parents, Benjamin and Samantha Moore Coxwell.

Mrs. Pruitt is survived by six children, Esther Hooker Moore and husband Tom of Metter, Joan L. Gordon and husband Joe of Quitman, Carol V. Collins of Vidalia, Billy Hooker and wife Margaret of the Toombs Central Community, Rex Pruitt and wife Mimi of Texas, and Rea Daniels of Tennessee; one sister, Betty Jo Thigpen of Rincon; eleven grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

The memorial service will be held Monday, September 15th at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Paul Thompson officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 2:00 p.m. until just prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Community Hospice Foundation, P.O. Box 2277, Vidalia GA 30475.
