In his recent retired years, he devoted himself to volunteering for veteran and senior organizations. He is survived by his sister, Ann; daughter, Mona; son, Joseph; four grandchildren; and four great- grandchildren. A memorial will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, June 20, 2014, in Willamette National Cemetery. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Helping Hands Program, P.O. Box 423, Corbett, OR 97019.
