  Eli D. Myers, 88, who spent practically his entire life in Fountain county, died Saturday morning Jan. 25, 1937 at 7:25 o'clock at the home of his son, Everett Myers in Casey, Ill.
  Hamilton Myers of Hillsboro, also a son, left Saturday morning for Casey to accompany his father's body here.
  Mr. Myers was born near Wallace on March 2, 1884, the son of Harrison and Mary Fine Myers. He was first married to Delphina Bowers, who died several years ago and later was married to Catherine Miller. He was a member of the Thanuel Lutheran church. Last April he moved to Casey, Ill.
  He is survived by his wife, three sons, Hamilton and Alva of Hillsboro and Everett of Casey, and two daughters, Mrs. Nora Ferguson of Vincennes and Mrs. Miranda Suitors of Perrysville. Mr. Myers was the last of a large family of children.
  The body was brought to the home of his son, Hamilton Myers, near Hillsboro Saturday evening. Funeral services were held Monday morning at 11 o'clock from the Thanuel Lutheran church near Wallace. Burial was made in the Lutheran cemetery.

• Biography*: Mrs. Susan Zackmire, 87, died at 5:30 am Sunday at her home following a two year illness. She was in serious condition during the past few weeks.
  Born March 7, 1864, in Parke county, she was the daughter of Felix and Catherine Helper Bowers. She was a member of the Wallace Lutheran church. On Sept. 26, 1881, she married Thomas Zackmire, who died March 7, 1948.
  She was preceded in death by two sisters, a daughter and a son.
  Survivors include a son, Ransom, of Yeddo; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Allen, of West Lebanon, and Mrs. Lizza Shoaf, of Attica; 19 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren.
  Friends may call at the Woodrow funeral home, Kingman, after noon Monday. Services will be held Tuesday at 2 pm (CDT) in the Freedom church near Wallace with Rev. Leslie Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Zackmire Cemetery.

  Manda Etta Allen passed away quietly at her home, Thursday afternoon, March 10, 1938, at 4:15 o'clock at the age of 53 years, 1 month and 13 days. Mrs. Allen was born January 27, 1885, on a farm east of Yeddo, the daughter of John and Mary Bowers Sackmire. On December 29, 1904, she was united in marriage to Isam Allen, of Wallace. To this union two children were born, one son, Veron C. Allen, and a daughter, Mrs. Verna V. Smith, both of near Kingman. She also cared for Truman C. Harvey, a son of her deceased sister, Mrs. Luella Harvey, for about six years.
  Mrs. Allen spent her entire life in the community in which she died. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and a true friend and neighbor. She was home-loving and in spite of her many ailments struggled to perform her household tasks almost to the last. Her spirits were always high and her faith in the higher life most abundant. She was a member of the Wolf Creek Baptist church and the Centennial Cemetery League.
  Surviving are the husband, the son and daughter, an aged mother, Mrs. Mary Sackmire, of Wallace, one granddaughter, Carolyn Ganet Allen, two sisters, Mrs. Clara Palmer, and Mrs. Laura Gooding, both of near Kingman, several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.

  Mrs. Allen was born Feb. 25, 1912, in Fountain County, a daughter of James A. and Maude Mayfield Carter. She was married on Aug. 18, 1934, to Veron C. Allen. He preceded her in death on June 4, 1980.
  She is survived by a daughter, Carolyn Flint; a son, James Allen; and three grandchildren. all of San Antonio, Texas; a sister-in-law, Verna Smith and nephew, Kenneth Smith of Kingman; two great-nieces and cousins.
  A memorial service will be 7:30 pm Monday in the Roy Akers Funeral Home at San Antonio. Funeral services will be 10 am Thursday in the Woodrow Funeral Home at Kingman, with the Rev.
