Neill Alexander Regan , Jr. 'Sonny'

• Biography*: Neill Regan Jr., 73, of Mooresville, North Carolina peacefully passed away at his home surrounded by his family on July 9th, 2017. He was born in Lynchburg, Virginia to Neill and Alice Regan.
  
  Neill is survived by his loving wife Yvonne of 53 years, daughter Angela Regan, son Brent, his wife Yolanda, son Ryan, his wife Meghan; sisters, Brenda Jack and Terry Angel; brother, Gary Regan and many loving grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and great grandchildren. Neill was a very loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to all.
  
  Neill was an honorable veteran having served four years in the U.S. Army. Neill worked for BWXT for 39 years having many professional roles and was a graduate of Lynchburg College where he earned his degree in Physics. Neill had a love and passion for the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing and camping. He also had a special interest in automobiles, household projects and fictional reading. Neill was very proud of all his accomplishments but he was most proud of his family.
  
  A special service will be held on Friday, July 14th, 2017 at 3:00pm at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home. A gathering of family and friends to celebrate this wonderful man will follow the service at the same location; 494 East Plaza Drive, Mooresville, NC.

• Biography*: Edwin Harrison Shelton, 90, of Alexandria, Va., died on Tuesday, May 24, 2016. He was born in Piney River, Va., on July 25, 1925, and raised in Nelson County with his family. Edwin was one of four boys that include John, Samuel, and Benjamin; and three girls, Frances, Rose and Ann born to his late father, Samuel Walton Shelton and his late mother, Virginia Ruth Hill Shelton. He was lovingly called “Buddy” by family and friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 51 years, Ann Rutledge Regan Shelton.
  
  Edwin served his country during World War II where he was deployed in the European theatre as a member of the Army Signal Corps during 1944 and 1945. After the war he worked for the railroad as an electrician and eventually retired as foreman of the U.S. Capital Power Plant in Washington, D.C. He also served for many years as a Deacon for Woodlawn Baptist Church in Alexandria, Va. He was nicknamed “Buddy” because he was a friend to everyone he met.
  
  He is survived by one brother, John L. Shelton of Roseland, Va; and five children, Gary Edwin Shelton of Manassas, Va., Gayle Ann Shelton Geleta of Manassas, Va., Sherry Grace Shelton of Alpharetta, Ga., Brent Regan Shelton of Daly City, Calif., and Tracie Shelton-Farmer of Radford, Va. He is also survived by his daughter-in-law, Carol Shelton of Manassas, Va; and three sons-in-law, Nicholas Geleta of Manassas, Va., Mack Farmer of Radford, Va., and Brian Galway of Alpharetta, Ga. Edwin was also blessed with five grandchildren, Gena Shelton Osborn, Natalie Geleta, Nicholas Geleta, Nina Geleta, and Mackenzie Farmer; and one great- grandson, Andrew Osborn.
  
  After Ann's death, he went to live with his daughter Gayle and her family in Manassas, Va. for four years. For the last 12 years his son, Brent Regan Shelton, has been his primary caretaker. The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to Brent for the extraordinary 24/7 care, personal sacrifice and immense love he consistently provided to our father.
  
  The family is forever grateful to Adrianne Castillo of Daly City, California, for all her unselfish assistance and invaluable support to both Brent and Dad for so many years.
  
  A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, June 4, 2016, at Byrum-Parr Funeral Home officiated by the Rev. Edwin Childress. Burial with military honors by American Legion Post #16 will follow the service with interment at Bethlehem United Methodist Church Cemetery, Roseland, Virginia. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service at the Byrum-Parr Funeral Home.

  Ms. Eva Kate Edge, 92, of Elizabethtown went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 13, 2021. She is preceded in death by her parents, Eddie James West and Lillie Bell Edge West, her stepmother Marcia West, her husband Braxton Edge, five brothers, Linwood West, Arbie West, Carl West, Edward West, and Bradley West, and five sisters, Ethel Melvin, Grace Mintz, Eralene West, Ruby West and Annie West. Eva leaves behind son, Bruce Edge (Cindy) of Fayetteville, five daughters, Linda Jones (Bill) of Elizabethtown, Barbara Osborne of Old Dock, Brenda Hendrix (Daniel) of Wilmington, Bernice Jackson of Hope Mills, and Dianne Palma (Archie) of Fayetteville, 13 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and one sister-in-law Joan West Faircloth.
  
  Ms. Eva Kate loved the Lord, her family, and her church. She was an active member of Windsor United Methodist Church until about 10 years ago when her health would not allow it. She loved sports and enjoyed participating in the Senior games, especially bowling. She had won 150 plus medals. When not participating in sports, she was watching them on tv. Ms. Eva Kate loved her UNC Tar Heels. One never left hungry at Ms. Eva Kate's. It gave her great joy to cook for everyone. Her determination, her spunk and her love for everyone will certainly be missed but not forgotten.
  
  Per Ms. Eva Kate's wishes, the family will receive friends from 10-11:00 am on Tuesday, November 16, 2021, at Windsor United Methodist Church in Ammon followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am with Rev. Mark Gustafson officiating. Services will conclude in the church cemetery. At other times, the family will greet friends at the home of Ms. Eva Kate, 620 McLeod Village, Apt. 11D, Elizabethtown. Due to the COVID epidemic, the family ask that you use your own personal precautions.
