IRENE MCNEILL

Mrs. Irene King McNeill, 95, of 1501 North Elm Street, widow of Daniel B. McNeill, died Tuesday. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 3 p.m. at Chestnut Street United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Herman Winberry. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Cemetery.

Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Robert J. Sims, Kingsport, Tenn., Mrs. James R. Thomas, Long View, Texas, Mrs. Wyatt H. McNairy, Greensboro, Mrs. Paul C. Seyfried, Lumberton, and Mrs. William E. Wilkins, North Myrtle Beach, S.C., ten grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Dr. D.D. King, Lumberton, Harvey M. King, St. Pauls, and Alton King of Baltimore, Md; one sister, Mrs. Mary Klarpp, Red Springs.

She was educated at Littleton College and taught school prior to her marriage. She was a charter member of the Lumberton Garden Club and the American Legion Auxiliary and a member of Chestnut Street United Methodist Church for many years.

The family will be at Stephens Funeral Home tonight (Wednesday) from seven to nine o'clock.

Daniel Bunyan McNeill, 74, of 1501 Elm Street, Lumberton, retired farmer and cotton warehouse-man and life-long resident of Robeson County, died late yesterday afternoon of a heart attack while enroute to Kure Beach. Mr. McNeill died almost instantly and before a doctor could be reached.

Mr. McNeill was born on a farm west of Lumberton and moved to Lumberton in 1901. Many years ago he disposed of the farm and several years ago he retired completely from business activity, having operated the cotton storage warehouse here. A member of the First Baptist Church, he was also a Scottish Rite Mason and a Shriner.
He is survived by his wife, the former Irene King, five daughters, Mrs. R.J. Sims of Kingsport, Tenn., Mrs. J.R. Thomas of Longview, Texas, Mrs. M.C. McNairy of Charlotte, Mrs. Paul Seyfried of Nazareth, Penn., and Mrs. W.E. Wilkins of Lumberton; 12 grandchildren.

Funeral plans are incomplete.

The family has requested that no flowers be sent and suggests that any donations be used for a memorial room at the Robeson Memorial Hospital.
