    Roberta Rozier West, age 92, of Wilmington, formerly of Lumberton, passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2014 with her daughter by her side.

    Mrs. West was preceded in death by two sons, Hilton Lee Britt and Thomas Earl Britt; her parents, Effie White and James Scott Rozier; her brother, Herbert Rozier; her sisters, Glemmie Rozier Mauldin, Francis Rozier Babson, Rosa Rozier Clewis and Dorthea Rozier.

    She is survived by one daughter, Linda West Hutchison (Harvey) of Wilmington, NC; a daughter-in-law, Brenda Britt of Waverly Hall, GA; nieces, Carolyn Phillips of Lumberton, Betty Hatchell (Rev. L.F.) of Lumberton, Janelle Babson of Lumberton, Arneice Ivey (Gordon) of Fayetteville, Lois Torrey (Henry) of St. Pauls, Erma Kinlaw of St. Pauls, Shirley Dalton of Fayetteville and Rachel Livermore (Ray) of Fayetteville; nephews, Morris Rozier (Jill) of St. Pauls and Jeffery Rozier (Margie) of St. Pauls; grandchildren, Mark Britt of Waverly Hall, GA, Jake Britt (Melinda) of Hamilton, GA, Sandra Andrada (Don) of San Antonio, TX, Linda Britt of San Antonio, TX; six great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren and a very special cousin, Nellie McVicker of Lumberton. She also leaves behind many special friends in Lumberton and Wilmington.

    Roberta worked a number of years in textiles at the Raeford Mills, Jones Knitting (now Jones New York), Texfi, Kayser-Roth, Jasper Knitting and Outer Banks, ending her work career with Lumberton Meals on Wheels program in her 70’s.

    A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 from 11:00AM-12:00PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc. of Lumberton, 809 East 5th Street, Lumberton.

    A graveside service will follow the visitation at 12:30PM at Gardens of Faith Cemetery in Lumberton with Rev. L.F. Hatchell officiating.

    In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her memory to your local Meals on Wheels program.
