Ronald James Regan, 53, of Halloway Street, Hickory, NC, died Wednesday, May 21, 2008 at Frye Regional Medical Center. Born in Caldwell County, NC on June 30, 1954, he was the son of the late Rev. Dewey Clyde Regan and Myrl B. Regan. Ronald was of the Baptist Faith and a skilled craftsman. He was plant manager for Kontane, Inc. in Hickory. He treated his employees well and was great to work for. Ronald is survived by his children, Ronald James Regan, Jr. of Valdese, NC, Angela Regan of Drexel, NC, and Chris Benfield of Icard, NC; sisters, Bobbie Campbell and husband, Leonard, of Maiden, NC and Betty Jane Reece and husband, Larry, of Pawley’s Island, SC; brother, D.C. Regan, Jr., and wife, Ann, of Drexel, Jerry Regan of Connelly Springs, NC, David Regan and wife, Teresa, of Valdese, NC, and Gary Regan of Drexel; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Ronald was preceded in death by his wife, Kathy Edna Benfield Regan, and a sister, Myrlene R. Byrd.The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 23, 2008 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Burke Memorial Park. Kathy Edna Benfield Regan, 46, of Halloway St., Hickory went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2008 at Frye Regional Medical Center, Hickory.
Born in Avery County on May 16, 1961, she was a daughter of Qutina McGee Benfield of Morganton and the late T. J. Benfield.
Kathy was of the Baptist faith and was employed for 24 years by Carolina Shoe.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, Hale Benfield and a sister, Carol Benfield.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Ronald James Regan of the home; sons, Hoyt Brittain and his wife, Teressa of Vale, and Chris Benfield and his fiancée, Jessica of Icard, grandchildren, Ashley, Harley, and Katlyn Brittain and Destiny Benfield; a brother, Thomas Benfield of Morganton; a sister, Debbie Aldridge of Morganton; and her paternal grandmother, Edna Benfield of Crossnore.
The funeral will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with the Rev. Ralph May officiating.
Burial will follow in Burke Memorial Park.

- Biography*: Sara Edens Adams Stansel 92, of Lumberton, went to her heavenly home on January 17, 2012.
She was born to the late John Marvin and Mary Edens Adams on March 22, 1919. She lived most of her life at Allenton, North Carolina.
Sara was an active and faithful member of Chestnut Street United Methodist Church and served in many capacities but was most remembered for her years as cradle roll chairperson making sure the newborns in the church were welcomed and christened. Many will also remember her from her years with Robeson County tax department.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 71 years, Charles B. Stansel; her parents, John Marvin and Mary Edens Adams; and a sister, Jackie Kornegy (Find A Grave Memorial# 67699725).
Survivors include one daughter, Mary Ruth Pittman and her husband O'Neal, of Liberty, Missouri; three sons: Ben Stansel and his wife Annette, of Cleveland, Tennessee, Ron Stansel and his wife Linda, of Lumberton, North Carolina, and John Stansel and his wife Loretta, of Georgetown, South Carolina. She is also survived by one sister, Mary Cheville and her husband Ed, of Charlotte, North Carolina as well as several nieces and nephews.
Surviving grandchildren are: Kenan Rader and her husband Robert, of Liberty, Missouri, Hank Pittman and his wife Andrea, of Liberty, Missouri, Jim Stansel and his wife Christy, of Cleveland, Tennessee, Pam McMillan and her husband Mike, of Spring Hill, Tennessee, Amy Glenn and her husband Justin, of Summerville, South Carolina, Paul Stansel and his wife Mercy Cannon, of Clarksville, Tennessee, Joe Stansel of Wilmington, North Carolina and Dawn Ward and her husband David, of Andrews, South Carolina.
Also surviving are great-grandchildren: McCurry and Mitchelle Rader; Neal, Harrison, Madeline and Ellie Pittman; Amanda and Steven Stansel; Zachary and Allison McMillan; Wesley and Claire Glenn; Cannon Stansel; Raven Stansel
The funeral will be on Saturday, January, 21 at Chestnut Street United Methodist Church .

John Coltrane Stansel, 58, husband of Loretta Jean Cooper Stansel, departed died Monday, August 24, 2015, at Tidelands Community Hospice.
Mr. Stansel was born September 15, 1936, in Lumberton, NC, a son of Charles Benjamin Stansel and Sara Edens Adams Stansel.
He graduated from Little Field High School in 1974 and attended Southeastern Community College. He was employed by Auto Zone.
He was survived by his wife; a daughter, Dawn S. (David) Ward; a grandson, Raven Lee Stansel; two brothers, Ronnie (Linda) Stansel and Ben (Annette) Stansel; and a sister, Mary Ruth (O'Neal) Pittman; and his extended family, Junior Cooper, Jody C. Bailey, Julie (Steve) Goude, and Lynette (Bobby) Cooper.
He predeceased by parents.
Funeral services were 4:00 p.m., Thursday, August 27, 2015, in Maryville Pentecostal Holiness Church.
