- Biography*: Thomas came to Maryland about 1662 as an indentured servant for a period of five years. He was transported by William Waters who was promised land if he brought four servants per year for five years to Maryland. Thomas served his bondage and by 1688 had married Elizabeth Butler who had also been indentured. This was the year he proved his right to two parcels of land, one for 150 acres and the other for 50 acres. In 1689 he obtained a grant for 150 acres of a plantation he called "birchden". This part of Maryland later became Charles County.
Thomas acquired more land and on 11 June, 1706, he made a "gift of love" of the plantation "Birchden" to his son Thomas. On 14 October, 1706, he left his plantation "Morrisses Helpe" to his son Edward. He died a few months later. Thomas asked to be buried next to his wife who preceded him in death. - Birth*: Thomas was born on 14 Jul 1630.
