    Mrs. Edna Catherine (Cain) Smith, 96 went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at The Enclave in Clayton.

    Mrs. Smith was a native of Talladega County, AL, the daughter of R. Alpine and Bessie Rice Cain.

    She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Cecil Smith; and her daughter, Cathy Smith.

    Left to cherish her memories are her son, Alan Smith, and wife, Connie of Dickson, TN; her daughter, Mary Leah Kiser, and husband, Daniel of Clayton; four grandchildren, Justin Smith, Jessica Freeman (Eric), Stephen Kiser and Sarah Kiser; four great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Roma Askea, Betty Blackman, Jolene Hopper, and Betty Guy.

    The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 10:50 AM on Monday, February 20, 2023, at the church prior to the service. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, February 20, 2023, at Live Oak United Methodist Church with the Reverend Mark Gustafson and Reverend Joyce Carter officiating. The burial will follow in the church cemetery. Services entrusted to Butler Funeral Home, 401 W Roseboro Street, Roseboro, NC 28382.
