    Rev. Jettie Vann Cain Carter Floyd, 79, of Lumberton, NC, passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at UNC Health Southeastern in Lumberton, NC. She was born June 26, 1943 to the late Luther & Jettie Kinlaw Cain.
    Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husbands, Hilton Floyd Carter and Gerald Pittman Floyd; 6 brothers: Walton Cain, Bishop Cain, Luther Thomas "L.T." Cain, Herbert Cain, Willie Garther "W.G." Cain, and Bobby Lee Cain; and 4 sisters: Violet Cain, Retha Mae Henry, Emmy Bell Clark, and Edda Marie Estacion.
    She is survived by her brother, Ronnie Earl Cain of the home; her sister, Tonnie Cain Kinlaw of Lumberton, NC; a special friend, Rose Whittington; and several nieces and nephews.
    Jettie Vann graduated from Randolph County Public Schools on August 20, 1978. She also graduated from Randolph Beauty College in 1980 and Tiger Insurance College in 1984. She then worked for GE as an engineer from 1986-1990.
    She loved the Lord and doing his work. From the age of 18, she began serving in the church in several capacities. Ultimately, she answered the Lord's call to ministry. She graduated from Duke Divinity School and went on to pastor five different churches in the Lumberton area. She enjoyed being in the ministry and caring for the Lord's people. When her husband's health began to decline, she made the decision to retire from full-time ministry as she became his caregiver.
    The family will receive friends and loved ones on Friday, October 28, 2022, from 5:00-7:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 E. 5th Street in Lumberton, NC.
    A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Gardens of Faith Cemetery, 5190 Fayetteville Road in Lumberton, NC, with Rev. Steve Carr officiating.

    "Mrs. Patricia Keith Barnes, age 67, passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2015.

    Mrs. Barnes was born August 27, 1947 in Wake County to Zebulon Vance and Elizabeth Regan Barnes.

    Mrs. Barnes was a member of Elkin Presbyterian Church and was a member of Jonathan Hunt Chapter of DAR and VFW 7794 Ladies Auxiliary. Mrs. Barnes retired from Equitable Life Insurance Company and was National employee of the year in 1990.

    In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Bert Barnes.

    Survivors include: her husband, Sam Bishop of the home; daughter, Patti Kane and husband Jack of Andover, Kansas; step-daughters, Melinda Bishop Erwin and husband Brian of Emporia, Kansas and Heather Bishop Moore and husband Jake of San Clemente, CA; sisters, Lela P. Craig of Ocean Springs, MS, Peggy Hamerick of Wendell and Linda Lieppe of Raleigh; grandchildren, Jacob, Sidney, Lindsay, Mike, Drake, Karis, Braydon, Kenan and Max.

    Funeral services will be held Friday, February 13, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. at Elkin Presbyterian Church with Rev. Stuart Taylor officiating.

    Burial will follow at Hollywood Cemetery.

    The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

    Serving as pallbearers will be members of VFW Post 7794.

    Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
