    A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Saturday at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tommy Hepler officiating services.

    Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.

    The family will receive friends 6:00 to 7:00 pm Friday at Davidson Funeral Home.

    Mrs. Black was born December 26, 1926, in Mercer County, West Virginia to Zackie Pike Stowers and Stella Davidson Stowers. She was retired from Cross Roads Center and was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Black, a son Steven Beggs and a daughter Loretta Duncan.


    Surviving is two daughters, Alisha Murphy and husband Mike of Lexington, and Judy Foster and husband Tony of Lexington, 5 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 18 great great-grandchildren.

    .In addition to her father, Loretta was preceded in death by one daughter, Amanda Elaine Duncan; and one brother, Steven Mason Beggs.

    Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday at the Davidson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel, conducted by Rev. Clyde Akers, burial will follow in Macedonia United Methodist Church Cemetery with Masonic graveside rites by Lexington Memorial Lodge #473.

    Billy was born in Columbus County, NC to Solomon Dew Hayes and Eula Worley Hayes. He was a retired truck driver with Roy Widener Trucking and a member of Macedonia United Methodist Church. A veteran of the US Army and the National Guard, member of Lexington Memorial Lodge 473, and a Scottish and York Rite Mason.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Minnie McGehee Hayes and daughter Sandra Leigh Hayes.

    Surviving are: wife Dorothy Leonard Hayes of the home, Step Daughters: Sandra Sneed husband Larry, Julie Mae Bowden husband Jeff all of Lexington; Step Son: Bobby Dale Sutton of Lexington; Brothers: Jerry Hayes wife Fran of Midway and Buddy Hayes of Lexington; Sisters: Margaret Hayes Watts and Jackie Shelley both of Fair Bluff, NC, Nancy Hayes Hall, Betty Hayes Milam husband Charlie all of Lexington and Mary Lee Blythe of Winston Salem; 7 Step Grandchildren and 4 Step Great Grandchildren, and a very special nephew, Chris Watts and wife Vicky and their two sons Adam and Andrew of Clarendon, NC.

    The family will receive friends Monday night from 6 until 8 pm at Davidson Funeral Home Lexington and at other times at home.

  • Biography*: Franklin Pierce Leonard Sr., loving husband, dad and papaw went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 27, 2018.

    Frank was born on December 1, 1955 in Lexington, NC. He attended North Davidson High School. He was owner operator of Leonard's Lawn Care and Hauling. He was a member of Freedom Baptist Church in Davie County where he will be laid to rest.

    Surviving are his wife, Linda Nelon Leonard; three sons, Franklin P. Leonard II (Gretchen), Tim Leonard (Carla), Anthony James (Shana); 10 grandchildren, Clayton, Landon, Pierceson, Mallori, Ava Whitaker, Austin, Elizabeth, Chloey and Addyson James, Tyler Robertson; and two sisters, Diane and Teresa.

    He is preceded in death by his mother, Francis Weaver; brother, Timmy Leonard and sister, Rhonda.

    Visitation will be Thursday, March 1, 2018 from 6pm-8pm at Freedom Baptist Church of Mocksville. The service will also be held at Freedom Baptist Church on Friday, March 2, 2018 at 2pm.
