This replica graces the grounds of Texas Tech University in Lubbock. Her original of the statue was a gift donated to the city of Ft. Worth by Amon G. Carter.

• Biography*: From the Red River Valley Museum - She is an internationally renowned sculptor. She won a third prize at the prestigious Salon d'Autum in Paris and has been exhibited at Seligman's in New York. Her work is also on exhibit at the National Museum for Women in the Arts in Washington, DC, Notre Dame University and Duke University as well as having commissions in the Eisenhower Library, the Truman Library, the National USO Building and the Texas State House. Her best known work is probably the heroic size sculpture of Will Rogers on his favorite horse, Soapsuds, in front of the Will Rogers Coliseum in Fort Worth. The work was recast three times and stands in front of the Rogers Memorial in Claremore, OK, at the entrance of Texas Tech. University and in the sculpture of the Anatole Hotel in Dallas. The Red River Valley Museum has the largest collection of this remarkable artist's work on display in the Waggoner Room.
  
  From waggonerranch.com - Electra Waggoner Biggs is a nationally known sculptress and passed away in 2001. Best known for her sculpture of Will Rogers on his horse "Soapsuds" called "Into the Sunset". Amon G. Carter commissioned Electra Biggs to create the work after Will Rogers' fatal airplane crash at Point Barrow, Alaska in 1935. Electra Biggs also had the honor of having an automobile named after her. In 1959, John Biggs' brother-in-law, Harlow H. 'Red' Curtice, President of Buick Motors, Division of General Motors, named one of their luxurious Buick models, Electra.
  
  As stated in an article from the "New York Journal and American", Tuesday, April 12, 1938, Electra Waggoner explained that she had wanted to be a sculptress ever since she was a kid. Even when she was going to finishing school in New York, she was studying art on the side. Later she took a special course at Columbia, living in the Village and working with sculptors. Afterwards, she spent a year in Paris, at the Sorbonne.
  
  As early as 1945 Electra Waggoner Bigg's art work had been exhibited in Los Angeles, in the World's Fair in New York and Washington as well as Paris.
