  He was born Dec. 25, 1945, to Clarence Medlin Jr. and Martha Cody Medlin. He was attending Shady Grove Wesleyan Church in Colfax and was a member of the Koinia Sunday School Class. He was a self-employed contractor and served in the U.S. Marines during the Vietnam War.
  He is survived by his father of High Point; a son, Jim Medlin and his wife, Jennifer, of Shelby; a daughter, Kim Lambeth and her husband, Dewayne, of Winston-Salem; three sisters, Shirley Mendenhall of High Point, Kathy Wells of Thomasville and Susan Spaugh of Kingsport, Tenn; a brother, Martin Medlin of Plantation, Fla; two grandchildren, Will and Kendall Lambeth of Winston-Salem; his fiance, Cindy Fletcher and her daughter, Cristen Fletcher, both of High Point; and several nieces and nephews.
  Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Services on Eastchester Drive by the Rev. Wes Brown. Burial will be in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-8:30 tonight at the funeral home and other times at the home of Kim and Dewayne Lambeth, 3106 Friendship Ledford Road, Winston-Salem.

  She was a loving wife and caring mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many. She will be missed by all.
  
  Gail was preceded in death by her loving husband of sixty years, Kenneth, three brothers, four sisters and granddaughter Allie Holland Odum.
  
  Those surviving are her daughters: Cindy Putnam and husband Bruce, Brenda Odum and husband Harold (deceased), Sheila Taro and husband Sal; grandchildren, Andrew and Austin Putnam, Houston Odum, Max Taro, Ginger Taro Madison and husband Nate; stepgranddaughters, Barbara Putnam Cox and Renée Putnam. Gail is also leaving behind longtime devoted friend, Doris Bostic, of 35 years.

  Kenneth was born on September 20, 1933, in Guilford County, the son of Raymond Ellis and Alma Cook Holland. He served his country in the US Army from 1951 to 1954. Following his military service, he started working at General Motor Repair. In 1956, he purchased the company and was the owner until he retired 1997. Kenneth loved to garden, fish, and play golf. His passion was his family and the time he could spend with them. He will be deeply missed by all.
  
  Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of sixty years, Gail Medlin Holland of the home; daughters, Cindy Putnam and husband Bruce, Brenda Odum and husband Harold (deceased), Shelia Taro and husband Sal; grandchildren, Andrew and Austin Putnam, Houston Odum , Max and Ginger Taro; step granddaughters, Barbara Putnam Cox and Renee' Putnam Porter; sisters, Nancy Smith and Barbara Powell and brother, Joe Bill Holland.   He was a member of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Claremont.
  In addition to his father, a sister, Cynthia Anne Medlin, and grandparents, Jesse and Blanche Medlin and Harold and Catherine Carpenter, preceded him in death.
  He is survived by his mother, Joan Carpenter Medlin of the home; a daughter, Carrie Mae Brown of Claremont; a granddaughter, Jada Brown; three brothers, Scott Medlin and wife, Pam, of Catawba, Tony Medlin of Conover, Lynn Medlin and wife, Jamie, of Hildebran; four nephews, two nieces; his best friend, Danny Hinson; and his long -distance sweetheart, Rita Schowengerdt.
  The funeral service will be held Monday, May 26, 2008, at 2 p.m. at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Claremont, with Pastor Malcolm Lerch officiating. Burial will follow in St. Marks Lutheran Church Cemetery in Claremont. Serving as pallbearers will be Bobby Medlin, Todd Medlin, Phillip Medlin, Derran Medlin, Justin Medlin, Jody Carpenter, Bill Brewer, Matthew McArthur and Brian Brown. The family will receive friends Monday prior to the service, from noon to 1:45 p.m., at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Claremont.

• Biography*: Sarah Grantham Bridger, age 96, a long-time resident of Wrightsville Beach and Bladenboro, NC passed away on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice. She was born in Fairmont, NC on June 26, 1923, the daughter of Charles Erdmann and Bessie Powell Grantham. Due to the death of her mother at age 3, she was raised by her uncle and aunt, Vardell and Maude Grantham. She is predeceased by her beloved husband John MacRae Bridger, daughter Sarah Camille Bridger, and grandson, John Palmer Williamson.
  Sarah is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth Bridger Williamson (Rick), Jean Bridger Konitzer (Robert), one sister, Jane Bell of Greenville, NC; brother-in-law, Lt. Col. Barry B. Bridger (Sheila), grandchildren: Elizabeth Hart, Kevin Hart, Bridger Hahn (Nick), Ben Williamson (Cressa), Mimi Konitzer (Aaron Motley), Mac Konitzer, Drew Konitzer, Deidra Johnson (Bo) and Courtney Isenhagen (Joel) and nine dearly loved great grandchildren.
  Sarah was an avid reader, animated storyteller and prolific gardener. She wrote beautiful letters to all she shared experiences with. Nothing gave her more joy than being in the presence of her family and friends.
  A special thanks to Glenda Hill who was a dear friend until the end.
  The family will receive friends from 1-2 pm on Friday, September 20, 2019 at the First Baptist Church of Bladenboro. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 pm.
