Jesse Marvin Regan died Thursday, Sept. 7, 2017, at Belmont Gardens in Vicksburg. He was born on April 30, 1927 in Claiborne County (Rocky Springs). He proudly served in the U.S. Navy for 35+ years, having attained the rank of senior chief petty officer and served our country proudly during World War II and the Korean War.
He was then employed by LeTourneau and later retired from the Waterways Experiment Station as a tool and die maker. He was a farmer, tree farmer and an avid gardener and enjoyed traveling with the WBCCI, the Air Stream Travel Club, for 25 years.
He was a member of the Rocky Springs Methodist Church until it disbanded and currently was a member of the Cayuga United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Jane R. Regan of Vicksburg; 3 daughters, Nancy (Robert) Munroe of Jackson, Linda Regan Creamer and Dr. Teresa Regan both of Chattanooga, TN, his special friend Sue Roberson of Chattanooga, TN and his beloved and faithful dog Scout; 2 sisters, Alice Regan Wheeler of Vicksburg and Mary Ruth Regan (Leon) Price of Bossier City, LA; 6 grandchildren, Rachael Middleton (Bill) Moormann, David Marvin (Emily) Middleton, Amanda Middleton (Dax) Howard, Jessica Munroe (Charly) Balzi, Robert C. Munroe III and Russell Donnelly (Elizabeth) Munroe and 10 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson.
Funeral services will be 10 AM Saturday in the chapel of Glenwood Funeral Home in Vicksburg with Rev. George McFarland officiating. Visitation will be 9 AM Saturday until the hour of the service. Interment will follow in the Wintergreen Cemetery in Port Gibson.
Pallbearers will be Russell Munroe, Dave Middleton, George Wall, Woodrow Wilson, Harold Neely, George Cranfield, Robert Murphree and Jesse Middleton.

Inda Jane Russell Regan died Wednesday, May 6, 2020, at Morning Pointe Residence in Hixson, Tn. She was born on December 16, 1929 in Jackson. She married Jesse Marvin Regan in 1947. After she retired from Waterways Experiment Station, they traveled the country for over 25 years with the Air Stream Travel Club.
Jane had the nurturing gifts of generosity, kindness, wisdom, understanding, wise counsel, warmth, knowledge, and a dedicated faith in the Lord. Her favorite Bible passage was “Be Still and Know that "I Am God”. She was an incredibly strong, courageous, and thoughtful person who met everyone with her infectious smile. In her last hours, she was still able to shine and brought light to all those around her. Her light will continue to shine in all of us.
She was known for her many talents such as cooking, baking, canning, and sewing. She was most known for her famous bread and butter pickles and her succulent fried chicken. Her other talent was playing the piano and she lovingly played for over 60 years at Rocky Springs UMC. One of her most famous quotes was “In time this too shall pass”.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jesse and 2 brothers.
