He was born March 15, 1931, in Rowan County to the late Alvin Albert and Alice Louise Harris Myers. He retired from Oakwood Homes and served in the Korean War as a sergeant first class. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, Irene Wilson Myers of the home; four sons, Danny Myers of Spencer, Barry Chunn (Linda) of Tennessee, Mark Chunn of Salisbury and Bradley Chunn (Crystal) of Linwood; three daughters, Louise Powell of Tennessee, Patricia Jacobs (John) of Salisbury and Dannell Martin (Derek) of Linwood; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one sister, Gerri Cervantes of Salisbury.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Bill, Roland and David Myers; an infant child; and one sister.
Service: A military graveside service will be held Monday March 15 11 a.m. at Forest Hill Memorial Park in Lexington with the service conducted by Rev. Wayne Sechrist.
