Miss Martha Priscilla Hix, age 95, of Homers Way Lane, Moravian Falls, died Sunday, February 6, 2011 at Wilkes Regional Medical Center. Miss Hix was born May 20, 1915 in Wilkes County to Walter and Ola Phillips Hix, Sr. She graduated from Wilkesboro High School and Roanoke Business School. Miss Hix was a member of Moravian Falls United Methodist Church and a member of Rainbow Garden Club. She was employed with RK Stewart Construction Company in High Point for 31 years. Miss Hix was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Davis Jefferson Hix and Walter Renn Hix, Jr; and four sisters, Helen Hix Trader, Margaret Hix Woody, Dorothy Hix Parlier and Buena Matred "Mate" Hix.

Surviving are four nephews, Phillip Woody and wife Gayle of Sylva, Allen Woody of Jackson County, Jon Trader of Cambridge, Massachusetts, Dal Trader of Garden Grove, California; one niece, Lyn Scott of Norwood, Massachusetts; one cousin, Lana Reavis of Morganton; and fifteen great nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held 1:00 o'clock Saturday, February 12, 2011 at Moravian Falls Cemetery with Terry Morris officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wilkes Regional Medical Center Auxiliary, PO Box 609, North Wilkesboro, NC 28659.
