  Vestal Henrietta (Miller) Hickman, of Morgantown, IN, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 16th, 2010 at Indiana Heart Hospital in Indianapolis. Born July 12th, 1928 in Morgan County to the late Chester A. and Chattie (Wade) Miller, she graduated from Morgantown High School in 1946. Henrietta attended Franklin College and graduated from Canterbury College in 1950. She majored in Business Education and Music; she also belonged to the social sororities Delta Delta Delta & Alpha Theta Epsilon. Henrietta married Asbury "Mac" Hickman on Sept. 29th, 1951 in Morgantown; he preceded her in death on Feb. 14th, 2000. They resided in Martinsville until 1956, at which time they moved to Orlando, FL and entered into business with his parents. During the 1940's and 1950's, Henrietta was a secretary in several offices at Camp Atterbury, and secretary at Morgan County Insurance Agency in Martinsville. She taught in many schools in Florida, including ones in Leesburg, Groveland, Titusville and Jacksonville. Henrietta attended many colleges and universities while living in Florida. In 1960, she became secretary/treasurer of Hickman Manufacturing in Leesburg, FL, manufacturer of institutional casework. While living in Leesburg, she helped organize the Pink Ladies Auxiliary of Leesburg General Hospital. Henrietta was a member of Triangle Club, Leesburg and a charter member of the Alpha Lambda Chapter, Epsilon Sigma Alpha. She held many offices in the Leesburg Junior Woman's Club and was honored for her work by being make a lifetime honorary member of the Junior and Senior Woman's Clubs of Leesburg. Henrietta was a member of the Morrison Memorial Methodist Church, Leesburg, where she sang in the choir and was active in a Women's Circle. Henrietta was a charter member of the BPW of Titusville, FL. She was a secretary at the Chamber of Commerce in Titusville during the Apollo moon launches and coordinated travel and room accommodations for many celebrities staying in the area during the launches. She was a charter member of Morgan County History & Genealogy Association, a member of Morgan County Historic Preservation Society, a member of the Historic Landmarks Foundation of Indiana and a member of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Henrietta was a member of the Morgantown United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School in the Children's Department and served as Church Historian for over 25 years. She is survived by her sister: Mary Elizabeth (Miller) Stockton of Morgantown; nephew, Thomas A. Stockton and his wife, Maryann of Indianapolis; niece, Kay L. Stockton of Morgantown and several other nieces and nephews; two infants: Susan Elizabeth & Christopher M. Hickman, preceded her in death. A fellowship gathering to celebrate the life of Henrietta will be held Saturday, Nov. 20, 2010, at the Morgantown United Methodist Church from 2-4pm. Burial will at East Hill Cemetery in Morgantown. • Biography*: Paul Quentin Koontz, 91, of Oak Hollow Road, died Tuesday, May 17, 2011, at Wake Forest Baptist Health – Lexington Medical Center.
  
  A graveside service will be 4 p.m. Thursday, May 19,2011, at Reeds Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Gary Foster officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:30 to 3:30 at Davidson Funeral Home prior to the service and other times at the home.
  
  Mr. Koontz was born May 26, 1919, in Davidson County, to John Washington Koontz and Fallie Foster Koontz. He was a member of Reeds Baptist Church; former Reeds Volunteer Fireman; and retired from Dixie Furniture. After his retirement he and his wife, Susan, moved to Southport where they made their home for nineteen and a half years, before moving back to Lexington to be closer to their family. While living in Southport he was a member of the 55 and over club. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Larry Paul Koontz; grandson, Thomas Glenn; brothers, Thurman, Terry, and Roy Koontz; and sisters, Mary Louise Ward, Vettus Myers and Beulah Kepley.
  
  Surviving are his loving wife of 67 years, Susan Forrest Koontz of the home; sons, David Koontz and wife, Joretta, and Mackey Koontz and wife, Renee, all of Lexington; grandchildren, Christy Koontz and husband, Mike, Shannon Koontz and wife, Susan, and Michael Koontz; great-grandchildren, Jocelin Knight, Sydney E. Koontz and Sara E. Koontz; and special friend Jerry Gordon and wife, Kathy, of Southport.
  
  The family would like to extend special thanks to his caregiver and niece, Verna Lee.

• Biography*: Jacob Webster "Shorty" Koonts, 94, died as a result of a car accident, Thursday, October 28, 2010, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday, October 30, 2010, at Davidson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel with the Rev. Arnold Gosnell officiating. Burial will be private in Forest Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home and other times at the home. Mr. Koonts was born October 15, 1916, in Davidson County, to Cicero Jasper Koonts and Annie Elizabeth Brinson Koonts. He was a carpenter of Smith Lumber Company for 33 years, a member of Trinity Methodist Church for 79 years, having joined in 1931. He was a member of CCC Civilian Conservation Corp for six years in Oregon and the mountains of North Carolina and played baseball with Reeds, he is the last living player of the team of 1937. Mr. Koonts was also known as paper towel holder man in Lexington having given away over 300. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 13 brothers and sisters; his first wife, Nancy Louise Koonts; granddaughter, Sherri Beale; great-granddaughter, Jennifer Rae Swinson Surviving are his wife, Fannie Mae Hege Koonts of the home; sons, Stephen Webster Koonts of Lexington and Robert Stanley Koonts of Winston-Salem; daughter, Betty Carroll Koonts Ross of Chesapeake, Va; grandchildren, Dean Koonts, Cheryl Hinson, Rusty Smith, and Chris Smith ; great-grandchildren, Tim and Lisa Marie Koonts, of Germany, Nikki Farrenkopf, Justin Beale, Gregory Shelley, Mark Smith, Joseph Smith and Savannah Smith; great-great-grandchildren, Ryan Farrenkopf, Haley Carroll Farrenkopf, Tiffany Shelley, Christina Shelley and Kristin Smith; great-great-grandchild, Jacob Thomas Curling; and two step-grandchildren in Texas.
