Mrs. Watson was the daughter of the late Jasper Hinton and Bessie Cannady Pope. She was a member of Ingold Baptist Church and a homemaker. She was the widow of Walter Tillman Watson. She is survived by three daughters, Betsy Jean Moore, Elsie W. Kersey, and Joyce Ann Pearson, one son, Jasper Cleveland "Pete" Watson, three brothers, Marion Pope, Henry Pope and Robert Pope; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Mrs. Watson died at age 81 in Sampson Regional Medical Center. - Birth*: Betsy was born on 22 Sep 1923 at Sampson County, NC.
