Mark Edwin Koonts, 37, of East Wright Avenue, Kill Devil Hills, and formerly of Lexington, died Saturday, Nov. 21, 1999, in Ocracoke after a sudden illness.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. John Brokopp. Burial will be in Shiloh United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Koonts was born Nov. 18, 1962, in Davidson County to Max Eugene Koonts and Betty Gosnell Koonts. He was a 1981 graduate of Lexington Senior High School and attended Western Carolina University. He was employed with Myers Electric Co. and attended Shiloh United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his mother of Lexington; a brother, Max Eugene Koonts Jr. of Lexington; and his grandmother, Helen Koonts of Lexington.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home of the mother at 4 Arden Road, Lexington.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, care of Teresa Coble, 304 Homestead Drive, Lexington 27292; or First Alliance Church, 424 E. Ninth St., Lexington 27295.
