  Lyonal David "Tommy" Clodfelder was born July 1, 1917, to Henry Eli and Amanda Jane (Kerchner) Clodfelder.
  
  He was born and raised in Logan and graduated from Logan High School.
  
  Tommy married Alma Lucille Erickson on June 17, 1940. Tommy proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII, stationed in Texas. Except for his time in the service, Tom lived his entire life in Logan where he worked and retired from the US Postal Service.
  
  Tommy attended the Logan United Methodist Church where for many years he sang in the choir. Music, particularly dancing, was a favorite activity. Tommy also loved football and beamed when telling stories of his undefeated 1934 high school football team, coached by Bob Evans. He continued to enjoy Lo-Ma sports through the years.
  
  Tommy died on Monday, July 8, 2013, after a short stay at the Longview Nursing Home in Missouri Valley IA at the age of 96 years and seven days. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Alma Clodfelder on June 12, 1990; two brothers, Theron and Dalbert Clodfelder; five sisters, Daisy Dakan, Lulu Grulke, Lena Kwarsinski, Golda Kosowsky; infant sister, Ila Pearl; and daughter-in-law Betty Clodfelder, wife of Lyonal Jr.
  
  Tommy is survived by his five children, Lyonal Clodfelder Jr., Penn Valley CA; Carolyn (Wells) Adams of Ames IA; Candi (Larry) Stewart of Muscatine IA; Cathy (Steve) Balderson of Des Moines IA; and Kent Clodfelder of Logan IA. Tommy was blessed with and so very proud of his nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. He will be remembered with a smile by many other friends and relatives.

  Jesse W. McCollum, 34, a World War II veteran, died Saturday evening at the U.S. Veterans' hospital on the Cold Spring road in Indianapolis.
  He had been ill with tuberculosis.
  Born April 14, 1915, at Wallace, Mr. McCollum was the son of Attley and Corda Bowman McCollum. He married Norma Grimes at Covington, Aug. 27, 1947. He was a member of the American Legion.
  Surviving are the widow, a son, Michael, a stepson, Donald, the mother, and a brother, Leslie, all of Wallace, a sister, Mrs. Ruby Mycroft, of Perrysville, a half-brother, Starless Shoaf of Wallace, and two half-sisters, Mrs. Marie Glaze of Wallace, and Mrs. Hazel Crumley of Darlington.
  Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon at the Wallace Lutheran church, with burial at the Wallace Lutheran cemetery. Rev. Joseph Dearmin will officiate. Friends may pay their respects at the Shoaf home here.
