Mr. McLeod died Thursday, September 28, 2017. Born in McBee, SC, he was a son of the late Cary Stamey and Annie Spaugh McLeod. Bob grew up in tough times, the Great Depression as a boy, veteran of WW II in the Philippines and a life long farmer in the Sandhills of Chesterfield County. He was the self taught historian of McBee and the surrounding areas. He loved to talk with anyone that could tell him about an historic site and he was off to explore it. He also collected arrowheads and studied the history of the natives of his area. He loved and was loved by so many people in the area.
Surviving are his wife, Ann Blakely McLeod; son, Robert (Debbie) McLeod; daughters, Martha Ann Tyner, Carol McLeod; sisters, Mary Martin, Sarah Goforth; brother, Walker McLeod; grandchildren, Holly Waugh, Carey Harman, Ashley McLeod, Joe Tyner, Angie Tyner; eight great-grandchildren. - Birth*: Hector Robert McLeod 'Bob' was born on 21 Mar 1923 at Chesterfield County, SC.

- Biography*: John Spaugh McLeod, 86, died Saturday, April 23, 2011. Born in Chesterfield Co., SC, he was a son of the late Cary Stamey and Annie Spaugh McLeod.
He was a graduate of McBee High School and North Carolina State University in Raleigh. He served in the United States Air Force during World War II. After serving, he moved back to his hometown of McBee, co-founding MarMac Manufacturing Company with his brother-in-law, the late John W. "Dub" Martin, Jr. in 1953. John McLeod was very dedicated to his community, serving as mayor of McBee and on the Chesterfield County Economic Development Board, recruiting several manufacturing business to the area. He also worked with the Medical University of South Carolina to establish Sandhills Medical Foundation and served on the board of Sandhills Telephone Cooperative for numerous years. He helped to restore the train depot into McBee Library and Museum and was a charter member of the McBee Lions Club.
John was a lifelong member of McBee Presbyterian Church, where he served as an elder and clerk of the session. He served on committees within New Harmony Presbytery. John's love of Christ was a testimony to his friends and family.
Surviving are his wife, Ruth Smith McLeod of McBee, SC; son and daughter-in-law, John Spaugh (Micki) McLeod, Jr. of Liberty Hill, SC; daughter and son-in-law, Anna (Robert) Weir of McBee, SC; sisters, Sarah McLeod Goforth of Rock Hill, SC, Mary McLeod Martin of Camden, SC; brothers and sister-in-law, H. R. (Ann) McLeod, Sr. of McBee, SC, Walker McLeod of Cassett, SC; grandchildren, Joanna Ruth Weir, Evan Adelle McLeod, Robert Lee Weir, Jr., and a step-granddaughter, Melissa Davis. - Biography*: Sidney Parker, Jr., 79, of Punta Gorda passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2012. He was son of Sidney Parker, Sr, and Edna (Brady), born and raised in Punta Gorda on June 1, 1932. Sidney served in the US Air Force during the Korean War. He was a member of Cleveland United Methodist Church and enjoying going fishing, hunting and walking his dog. Sidney will be great missed by his daughter, Martha (Timothy) Hayostek of Salisbury, NC; sons, Robert of Polk City, FL, Danny (Sherrie) of Pilot Mountain, NC and John of Punta Gorda, FL; 10 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty and grandson, Keith. The family will receive friends 5:00 to 7:00 pm, Sunday, May 13, 2012 at Larry Taylor Funeral and Cremation Services. A service to celebrate Sidney's life will be at 11:00 am, Monday, May 14, 2012 at Larry Taylor Funeral and Cremation Services. Burial to follow at Indian Springs Cemetery.
