2. George2 Grimes (Johan1). George was born 13 Jan., 1787 at Rowan County, NC. He married Rosanna Long say 1808 at NC. George died 27 May, 1870 at Fountain County, IN. His body was interred at Phanuel Lutheran Cemetery at Wallace, Fountain County, IN.
They moved from NC to Fountain County, IN about 1833.

1850 Census.
In 1850 the parents and two yoingest children were living at Jackson Townsip, page 12, Fountain County, IN.

1860 Census.
In 1860 the parents were living alone at Fountain County, page 859, Jackson Township, IN, next door to their youngest son George L. Grimes.
Rosanna Long. Rosanna was born 15 Aug., 1784 at Rowan County, NC. Rosanna died 26 Sep., 1865 at Fountain County, IN. Her body was interred at Phanuel Lutheran Cemetery at Wallace, Fountain County, IN. They moved from NC to Fountain County, IN about 1833.

3. Susannah Susanna?2 Grimes (Johan1). Susannah was born on 19 May 1788 at Rowan County, NC. She married John Long circa 1809. Susannah died on 10 Dec 1855 at Davidson County, NC, at age 67. Her body was interred at Bethany UCC Cemetery at Davidson County, NC. Near Wallburg.
John Long. John was born on 15 May 1782 at Rowan County, NC. John died on 26 Jan 1857 at Davidson County, NC, at age 74. His body was interred at Bethany UCC Cemetery at Davidson County, NC. Near Wallburg.

4. Jacob2 Grimes (Johan1). Jacob was born 1 Aug., 1789 at NC. He married Elizabeth Berrier circa 1809. Jacob died 5 Jun., 1811 at NC. His body was interred at Pilgrim Reformed - UCC at Davidson County, NC.
Elizabeth Berrier. Elizabeth was born on 17 Jul 1788 at Rowan County, NC. from gravestone. Now Davidson County. She married John Henry Shoaf , III 'Rich Henry' after 1813. Elizabeth died on 14 Mar 1863 at Davidson County, NC, at age 74. from gravestone. Her body was interred in Mar 1863 at Davidson County, NC. Beulah United Church of Christ Cemetery, on Arnold Road.
Children of Jacob2 Grimes and Elizabeth Berrier were:

5. Sarah2 Grimes (Johan1). Sarah was born 25 Jan., 1792 at Rowan County, NC. 23 Dec., 1791? 24 Jan., 1792? She married Henry Berrier or Barrier, Sr. on 11 Feb 1813. Sarah died 10 May, 1858 at Davidson County, NC. from gravestone. Her body was interred May, 1858 at Davidson County, NC. Pilgrim Reformed - United Church of Christ Cemetery, row 33, number 11.
Henry Berrier or Barrier, Sr. Henry was born on 20 Dec 1792 at Rowan County, NC. from gravestone. Henry died on 14 Jul 1864 at Davidson County, NC, at age 71. from gravestone. His body was interred in Jul 1864 at Davidson County, NC. Pilgrim Reformed - United Church of Christ Cemetery. 1850.
In 1850 the parents and their two youngest children were living in the Northern Division, Family #1183, Davidson County, NC.

1860.
In 1860 Henry was living alone in the Northern Division, Family #957, Davidson County, NC. His son William was living next door.

Barrier/Berrier, Henry Sr. - 1860 - Davidson County, NC - Wills
      Will of Henry Barrier Sr

I, Henry Berrier, Sen of Davidson County in the State of North Carolina
being somewhat advanced in years but of sound mind and disposing
memory,do make this my last Will and Testament.

Item First, my will and devise is that all my just debts and funeral
expenses be paid off by my executors as soon after my death as
convenient.

Item Second: I devise and bequeath unto my son, Henry Berrier all of my
Sowers tract of land containing one hundred and fifty acres more or
less, and four acres of meadow ground adjoining the widow Shoaf and the
heirs of G.M. Tussey and also forty five acres on the east side of the
Darr place, by and line North and South, and to have to hold and enjoy
said Real Estate to him the said Henry Berrier to him his heirs and
assigns forever.

Item Third: I devise and bequeath unto my son William Berrier all my
home place containing one hundred and fifteen acres, more or less and
seventy acres of the Darr place being the west end or side to have and
to hold and enjoy said lands free of all molestation to him his heirs
and assigns forever. I further bequeath unto my son William, two
plows,one shovel and one large plow and gears, and ten hogs-choice if on
hand and ten head of choice sheep-if on hand- if not he is not to have
them. And the third of the grain on hand and the half of the growing
crop.

Item: Fourth: I devise and bequeath unto my daughter Phebe Hedrick one
negro girl named Lou or Sue valued at Four hundred dollars and one
hundred dollars already received - making in all five hundred dollars.

Item: Fifth: I devise and bequeath unto my daughter Mary Ann Walk one
negro boy named John valued at three hundred and fifty dollars with one
hundred already received, making in all four hundred and fifty dollars.

Item Sixth: I give and bequeath to my granddaughter, Triphena Wagoner
Three hundred and twenty five dollars and my grandson Joseph Wagoner
three hundred and twenty five dollars making them equal, their mother
Susan Wagoner having received one hundred and fifty dollars making Eight
Hundred Dollars in all. And if either of them die without heirs of the
body the other is to have all. And if both die without heirs of their
own, then all that they receive from my estate is to go back to my
heirs.

Item Seventh: I devise and bequeath unto my two daughters Phebe Hedrick
and Mary Ann Walk all my beds and furniture equally divided between them
both.

Item Eighth: I devise and bequeath unto my four children, Henry
Berrier, William Berrier, Phebe Hedrick, Mary Ann Walk, all my negroes
that is not willed already - to be divided between them to be valued by
three disinterested men and they are to pay my two grand children,
Triphena Wagoner and Joseph Wagoner, their part in money, making five
equal shares in all. And my two daughters Phoebe Hedrick and Mary Ann
Walk are each of them to receive with what they have already received
enough to make up Eight Hundred Dollars each, and after that, all my
children are to receive an equal share including my son, Solomon
Berrier, making sic shares instead of five shares, share and share
alike,including negroes and my other property not willed, but Solomon
Berrier is to receive his share in money including the valuation of the
negroes and the negroes are to be divided between the four children
heretofore named - but their valuation to be divided among six -Solomon
Berrier, Henry Berrier, William Berrier, Phebe Hedrick, Mary Ann Walk and
Triphena and Joseph Wagoner, one share.

I nominate and appoint my son Henry Berrier and my son-n-law Joseph
Walk, the sole executors of this my last Will and Testament. In witness
whereof, I have here unto set my hand and affixed my seal, this twelfth
day of March in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and sixty.

6. Christina2 Grimes (Johan1). Christina was born on 26 Nov 1793 at Rowan County, NC. She married Matthias Sappenfield , III on 25 Aug 1811 at Davidson County, NC. Christina died on 31 Jul 1858 at Parke County, IN, at age 64. Her body was interred at Philadelphia Lutheran Church at Greene Township, Parke County, IN.
Matthias Sappenfield , III. Matthias was born on 12 Mar 1790 at Fayette County, NC. Matthias died on 14 Aug 1873 at Parke County, IN, at age 83. His body was interred at Philadelphia Lutheran Church at Greene Township, Parke County, IN. He was in the War of 1812.

The family moved from NC to IN in 1823 where they settled at Flat Rock, IN and farmed for two years before moving to Parke County, IN and settled in Little Raccoon (Greene Township).

He was a leader in the founding of the Philadelphia Lutheran Church of Putnam and Parke Counties, IN.

In 1850 the family was living at Parke County, IN, Family #745, listing the parents, Eliza, Christina, Felix, John M., Charles W., and Eusebius.

In 1860 the widow Matthias was living at Greene Township, page 769, Parke County, IN with Eliza, Eusebius, and Wilson M. Livengood (age 14).

In 1870 Matthias was living with his daughter Eliza S. Huber and family in Greene Township, page 83, Parke County, IN.
A book written in 1893 says that their were 11 children, of which six were living in 1893.

9. Philip2 Grimes (Johan1). Philip was born 11 May, 1798 at Rowan County, NC. He married Susanna Susan? Susannah? Leonard say 1818. 1820? Philip died in 1858 at Davidson County, NC. Aug., 1866? His body was interred at NC.
In 1850 the parents, along with five youngest children were living at the Southern District, Family #149, Davidson County, NC.

In 1860 the parents and son Hamilton were living at the Sounthern Section, Family #313, Davidson County, NC.
Susanna Susan? Susannah? Leonard. Susanna was born on 28 Dec 1798 at Rowan County, NC. 8th? Susanna died in 1858 at Davidson County, NC. May, 1866? Her body was interred at NC.
Children of Philip2 Grimes and Susanna Susan? Susannah? Leonard were as follows:

10. Rebecca2 Grimes 'Peggy' (Johan1). Rebecca was born on 16 Oct 1800. 17th? She was baptized at Davidson County, NC, on 30 Oct 1800. Religion:. Pilgrim Reformed United Church of Christ. She married Philip Phillip? Koontz , Sr. circa 1820. Rebecca died on 7 Sep 1838 at age 37. Her body was interred in Sep 1838 at Parke County, IN. near Boon County Cemetery is northeast of the one where Philip is buried which is near Mansfield Reservoir, Parke County, IN?
Moved from NC to Parke County, IN.
Philip Phillip? Koontz , Sr. Philip was born on 5 May 1795 at Davidson County, NC. Old Rowan County. He married Polly Gibson on 21 Jan 1840 at Putnam County, IN. Philip died on 30 Aug 1847 at Parke County, IN, at age 52. Parker City, Randolph County, IN? His body was interred in 1847 at Parke County, IN. Post Office is Danville, IN. Cemetery is near Mansfield Reservoir, Parke County, IN? Moved from NC to Parke County, IN.

The family moved to Parke County, IN about 1830.
Children of Rebecca2 Grimes 'Peggy' and Philip Phillip? Koontz , Sr. were as follows:

11. Andreas2 Grimes 'Andrew' (Johan1). Andreas was born 11 Mar., 1804 at Rowan County, NC. He married Phraney Myers say 1826. Andreas died 3 Dec., 1882 at Putman County, In. His body was interred at Phanuel Lutheran Cemetery at Wallace, Fountain County, IN.
The family moved to IN about 1827.

In 1850 the family was living in Jackson Township, Fountain County, IN, page 9 in Census, surrounded by a large group of NC families including many Myers families.

In 1860 the family was living at Fountain County, page 860, Jackson Township, IN, with the parents, Andrew J., Hiram. Lucinda, Philip, and America.
Phraney Myers. Phraney was born on 9 Apr 1808 at Davidson County, NC. Phraney died on 21 May 1883 at age 75. Her body was interred at Phanuel Lutheran Cemetery at Wallace, Fountain County, IN.
Children of Andreas2 Grimes 'Andrew' and Phraney Myers were as follows:
