97. Tillet Asbury⁴ Bordeaux (Marshall³, Sarah² Cain, Cornelius¹). Tillet was born on 22 Jun 1879 at White Oak, Bladen County, NC. He married Sudie J. Devane circa 1900. They had 5 children stillborn and died in childbirth having Eugene. He married Lucy Lula Watson. 10 children. Tillet died on 8 Sep 1939 at Bladen County, NC, at age 60.
Tillet, as well as 3 of his brothers, Bishop Skidmore, Julius Joshua, and Edward Jurium, were named after Methodist ministers. Tillet was apparently named after Rev. J. W. Tillet who served on the Bladen Circuit in 1879.

Tillet and 2 of his brothers, Bishop and Julius, moved across the Cape Fear River and settled in between Dublin and Elizabethtown on what is now known as Owen Hill Road. Tillet owned a large farm near the present day intersection of Owen Hill Road and Suggs-Taylor Road.

Sudie J. Devane. Sudie was born in Apr 1883 at White Oak, Bladen County, NC. 1880? Sudie died on 12 Nov 1912 at Bladen County, NC, at age 29. in childbirth. Note, Source: Jason Bordeaux - Tillet and Sudie had 5 children stillborn. Sudie eventually died in childbirth with Eugene. Since Tillet could not care for a child so young, Eugene was adopted by Sudie's sister, Emmie Bordeaux, who was married to Tillet's brother, Bishop.
